Emergency Medical Centers

In the wake of an illness, accident, terrorist attack or other medical emergency, heading to a hospital may not be possible if roads and tunnels connecting a yishuv and the nearest city are closed. Equipping yishuvim with emergency medical centers complete with birthing and NIC-U facilities is vital to life in YESHA. In partnership with Kiryat Arba's community council, and thanks to the generosity of Dr. Sam and Betty Ross of Dix Hills, NY, One Israel Fund helped establish an emergency medical center in Kiryat Arba. Similar centers in Gush Etzion and the Shomron are under construction and will hopefully be completed in the fall of 2009. Yet, there are still areas which need these life-saving structures.
