The One Israel Fund Ltd.’s (OIFL) Code of Conduct applies to all persons registered for a trip and/or tour in Israel organized or operated by OIFL. OIFL staff and Participants acting as Mission Chairs must exemplify the highest standards of behavior outlined in the Code of Conduct and proactively promote its practice throughout the entire duration of the trip. Abiding by the Code of Conduct means that you agree to all of the following statements.
To ensure a safe, meaningful, and inspiring experience for all participants, and to uphold the values of Torah, community and respect for Medinat Israel, the following policies have been established.
All mothers and daughters (and grandmothers) are expected to review, understand and agree to abide by these guidelines throughout the mission.
- General Conduct and Representation
- Ambassadors of the Jewish People and One Israel Fund
Participants represent not only themselves, but also their families, communities and the mission of One Israel Fund. All participants are expected to conduct themselves with dignity, kindness and respect at all times—especially when interacting with Israeli communities, soldiers and program partners. - Respect Toward Staff, Peers and Hosts
All participants must treat trip leaders, guides, security personnel, drivers and fellow participants with respect. Disrespectful behavior, including inappropriate language or defiance, will not be tolerated. - Bullying, Harassment and Inappropriate Conduct
Bullying, exclusionary behavior, harassment (verbal or physical) or inappropriate online conduct is strictly prohibited. This applies to all participants and extends to all group interactions.
- Ambassadors of the Jewish People and One Israel Fund
- Health, Safety and Security
- Medical Disclosure and Responsibility
All medical conditions, allergies and medications must be disclosed before the trip. Participants are responsible for bringing necessary medications and following prescribed instructions. Staff must be informed of any medical needs or physical limitations before the trip. - Security Awareness and Emergency Protocols
Traveling in Israel requires heightened awareness. Participants must follow all instructions from staff, guides and security personnel immediately—especially during security briefings or emergencies. - Prohibited Items
Possession of weapons or contraband of any kind is strictly forbidden. - Drugs, Alcohol and Smoking
The possession or use of illegal substances is strictly prohibited. Alcohol consumption is not permitted for minors and excessive consumption by adults is strongly discouraged during group programming. Smoking, vaping and e-cigarettes are not permitted for any participants during the mission.
- Medical Disclosure and Responsibility
- Program Participation and Group Expectations
- Staying with the Group
Participants must remain with the group at all times unless explicit permission is granted by trip leadership. This is critical for safety and coordination. - Attendance and Engagement
All scheduled activities—including touring, chesed opportunities, discussions and meals—are mandatory unless otherwise noted. Active participation enhances the shared experience.
- Staying with the Group
- Respect for Property and Environment
- Care for Property
Participants must respect hotels, buses, sites and community spaces. Any damage caused will be the financial responsibility of the participant. - Personal Belongings
Participants are responsible for their own belongings. It is recommended to avoid bringing valuable items.
- Care for Property
- Religious and Cultural Standards
- Kashruth and Shabbat Observance
All food provided will be kosher (mehadrin or rabbanut, will be noted), and group programming will honor Shabbat. Participants are expected to respect the religious tone of the mission. - Dress Code
Participants are expected to dress modestly and appropriately, particularly at religious or sensitive sites. - Respect for Israeli Culture and Communities
Participants will encounter diverse communities across Israel. Sensitivity, openness and respect for different customs and perspectives are expected at all times.
- Kashruth and Shabbat Observance
- Activities, Technology and Phone Policy
- Safety During Activities
Participants must follow all safety instructions during transportation, site visits and activities, including appropriate attire, hydration and staying with the group. - Intentional Phone Use and “Be Present” Policy
This mission is designed to foster meaningful connection—between mothers and daughters, within the group, and with the people and places of Israel. To support this goal, structured phone-free time will be built into each day. - Daily Phone Collection Periods
At designated times (such as during touring, site visits, group programming and other key experiences), daughters will be asked to deposit their phones with staff for safekeeping. Phones will be returned at scheduled intervals (typically in the evening, during meals or during designated downtime). - Mothers may retain their phones but are strongly encouraged to model mindful and limited use during programming. You may also be asked to set your phone to silent/vibrate mode during key points along the trip.
- Safety During Activities
- Photography and Media Policy
- Professional Photography and Photo Sharing
A professional photographer will accompany the group to capture meaningful moments throughout the mission. Photos will be shared with participants on a rolling basis via a designated WhatsApp group, allowing families to access and enjoy images while remaining present during programming. - Participants are encouraged to rely on these shared photos rather than using personal devices during key experiences.
- Use of Images and Media Release
By participating in this program, participants grant permission for OIFL to use photographs, video and other media taken during the trip for promotional, educational and marketing purposes. This includes, but is not limited to, social media, print materials and digital publications. - No compensation will be provided for such use. All media will be used respectfully and, in a manner, consistent with the values of the program.
- Participant Photography Etiquette
Participants may take photos during designated times; however, they must be mindful of privacy, the sensitivity of locations and the dignity of others. Posting images of fellow participants or community members should be done respectfully and, where appropriate, with permission. Be mindful of security concerns and location sharing. (see below) - Social Media Responsibility
Participants are encouraged to share their experience thoughtfully. Posting content that is inappropriate, disrespectful or compromises group safety or privacy is prohibited.
- Professional Photography and Photo Sharing
- Mother–Daughter Relationship Expectations
- Shared Responsibility
This is a joint experience. Mothers are responsible for their daughters’ behavior and participation, and daughters are expected to act respectfully toward their mothers and peers. - Fostering Connection and Growth
Participants are expected to approach the experience with openness, positivity and a willingness to engage in meaningful bonding, learning, and personal growth.
- Shared Responsibility
- Timeliness and Group Coordination
- Punctuality and Respect for the Schedule
Timeliness is essential to the success of the program and demonstrates respect for fellow participants, staff and scheduled partners. All participants are expected to arrive on time for departures, activities and meals. - Bus Departure Policy
Buses and group departures will leave at designated times and will not be delayed for late participants. It is the responsibility of each mother–daughter pair to be present and ready at the communicated departure time. - Participants who miss a departure may be required to arrange and cover the cost of alternate transportation to rejoin the group, if feasible. If a participant misses a departure due to their own negligence, no refund will be provided for missed activities.
- Shared Responsibility
Mothers and daughters are jointly responsible for managing time, preparing in advance, and ensuring prompt arrival to all group activities. Repeated lateness may result in loss of privileges or adjusted participation.
- Punctuality and Respect for the Schedule
OIFL reserves the right to dismiss a Participant from the trip for any reason, and OIFL shall make any such determination in its sole discretion. OIFL further reserves the right to bar any Participant from registering for any future trips should their behavior violate this Code of Conduct. Participant acknowledges that in the event of dismissal from a trip, Participant is responsible for all expenses incurred from the date of dismissal, including accommodations, as well as any additional fees incurred by airlines for changes to their original air travel itinerary. Participant shall be responsible for reimbursing OIFL for expenses incurred as a result of Participant’s violation of the Code of Conduct. By agreeing to this travel waiver, I consent to abide by the code of conduct and any trip protocols set forth by OIFL, OIFL staff member(s) and/or travel service representative(s) before and throughout the duration of the mission.
*I confirm that all information I have provided on this application is accurate and thorough. I affirm that I am in sufficient health to participate in this tour and that I do not have any medical condition that would inhibit or prevent my full participation unless otherwise advised at the time of registration.
Enforcement
Failure to adhere to these guidelines may result in consequences, including the limitation of certain activities or, in serious cases, removal from the program at the participant’s expense.
OIFL reserves the right to make decisions in the best interest of the group’s safety, well-being and mission integrity.
