A defibrillator is the device used to treat patients suffering from cardiac arrest. An automated external defibrillator (AED) is able to automate the diagnosis of treatable cardiac dysrythmias, allowing emergency responders to deliver an automated, therapeutic dose of electrical current to the heart. Medical Field professionals recommend placing defibrillators in large meeting areas such as event halls, schools, and other public institutions throughout the communities of Judea and Samaria.

By Israeli law, any public space with a capacity of 500 individuals or more must have a defibrillator. However, many communities in the Shomron are spread out and lack public spaces of this size. They are approved by Magen David Adom and come with gps tracking and SIM card. One Israel Fund and our partners in this campaign, Rescuers Without Borders, need 50 for the first phase of the campaign to fulfill emergency needs throughout Judea and Samaria.
