Eve Harow has a lively conversation with Gol Kalev on the results of his research on modern Jewish identity that led to his newly launched book, Judaism 3.0.

He establishes the (largely accepted) idea that Jerusalem and Temple centered worship was the first version of the people’s distinctiveness and Rabbinic Judaism the 2.0, for a landless Diaspora.

He contends that Zionism has now turned into the defining aspect of the Jewish nation/religion and that it anchors Judaism since Jews and non-Jews relate to Judaism through Zionism.
Agree or not- and the huge question of ‘who is a Jew’ still looms large- this is a thought provoking discussion and a well written book on a fascinating topic to many.
